meet our founder

Hey, I'm Toby

Toby and Mika Slough met at Abilene Christian University. They married in 1985 and have been walking through life and ministry together ever since.

Their journey with mental health became personal in 1988, when Toby was diagnosed with panic and anxiety. What began as one of the hardest seasons of their lives became the foundation for the work they do today.

Toby speaks, writes, and teaches from his own experience, helping people know they are not alone and that hope is possible. Mika brings a steady, compassionate presence to every part of Goby. She encourages families and leads alongside Toby with wisdom and care.

They believe the local church can be one of the safest places for honest conversations. Because God is with us, we can do hard things.
